Fringe 4.06 and other unrelated things

So, Fringe 4.06, I have many thoughts, most of them not coherent at this point. I've been trying to write up a review all weekend but words, they just will not come.
First, I loved the B-plot this week. I know it's supposed to echo the Olivia/Peter arch, with the questions being posed: "Does the person you love really want to be saved? When is it life, and when is it just living?", but it also reminded me stylistically of an episode of Out Limits (not any one episode in particular, but that it poses and answers the moral question of the day, at least for the set of characters in question).
The Olivia/Lincoln/Peter trifecta of crime scene investigation worked really well for me. And Walter in the lab, pretending to ignore them, but also not able to allow himself to be left out of the discussion. He's very obviously torn between wanting to believe Peter and help him, if not because he's his (potential) son, but also because the scientific puzzle, the how and why Peter is here, is very alluring to him.
Astrid and the Faraday harness - really smacking those electrodes into Peter's neck. She's been around Walter too much. ;)
The 'this is not my home' red herring -
monanotlisa points out that Peter claims this is another universe a little too often.
mrspollifax also said the same, and the two of them are sharp ladies, so I've got to agree. I do wonder if Peter, being the manipulator he can be, knows that Olivia and Walter can be very stubborn when pushed, so he's coming at it from a different angle, and getting their help to solve his mystery without implicating them directly. Maybe he's letting them find out the truth for themselves?
Also begs the question, exactly *what* Olivia's dreams about Peter were about. She's playing that one pretty close for now.
Why, oh why is there only one more episode until the winter break? Why?!
In other news, I am so stuck on my secret santa fic. I think it needs a sound track. I just haven't found writing music that fits. Or maybe a plot. (I'm not even entertaining the just writing smut option until down it's down to the last couple of days till deadline. Not this time.)
I knitted this weekend! Okay, actually, I unraveled a lot of yarn this weekend. And cast back on. And unraveled a lot more yarn. And cast back on. And unraveled... you get the picture. I'm getting really good at that part. My yarn, however, looks like it's been through a lawn mower.
But then today I figured out the yarn-forward/yarn-behind part so it doesn't look like a huge snarled ball and I have rows now. Progress! (also helps that I tried very hard not to think of pirates and the Black Purl each time I tried to make a purl stitch... uh yeah. Welcome to my brain with a fever.)
