Fringe 4.05
It has been a week. And apparently it's not over yet since the one hour work thing this afternoon is still ongoing five hours later... So not much to say about this episode except I liked it. Fringe can break your heart, but they do it with style.
- I am more curious than ever about Nina's involvement in Olivia's (and Rachel's!) life. Plus how casually she leans on Nina's desk? Definitely not the same strained Blueverse relationship.
- Walter and Peter, and Walter's penitence. Also Olivia trying to avoid Peter altogether (and time slippage!) and Peter just not knowing what's going on. And
rainer76 - kept thinking of your fic the entire episode. You totally called it. ;)
- Angsty Lincoln is angsty and just as closed down and hurting as first season Olivia. I kept expecting them to bring in Shapeshifter!Robert. And Olivia still trying to awkwardly make him feel like part of the team.
- um... I'm sure there will be more later...

And yeah, alas, this makes it less likely we'll keep the Amber!verse -- time slips are not a good sign, methinks.
Two first thoughts that made my heart stop: The shifter replaced Lincoln; it's Charlie all over again; OH GOD PLEASE NO NOT BLUE!LINCOLN!
But then again, could also just be Robert all over again: the grief washing over him again -- the shape-shifter sure doesn't seem to have had the energy and resources and time to play games within the FBI.
Which was what I feared re: those files -- infiltration through the female agent, but then, they would take, not give, I guess.
Deja vu all over again: if Fringe is revisiting past storylines, most likely explanation is that Olivia's abilities are awakening. She has already pulled Peter out of the ether; now she is crossing over.
I would hope it is NOT a third 'verse but "only" the Redverse, but the only slightly-off synchronicity sure suggests a Blue!verse variant...

I think more likely that it's his. It has only been a few weeks for him, after all.
Definitely agree that her powers are awakening, whether its universe hopping (strange that nobody in a populated room noticed her blip out?), or something altogether different though...
I don't know if we'll ever get fully back to the blue!verse. Just a feeling though.

True, but they did not do so before, either -- on the street, it was arguably less likely, but she's done it in the middle of a (different) Federal Building office too...

I like your theory of Peter being misguided. (read your post but replying over here for the sake of simplicity -am mobile at the moment) They do like to play with the character point of view a lot. I mean the whole of last season we thought the machine was a weapon because the characters thought it was and we were along for the ride. I'd buy that Peter was willing to erase himself for the sake of setting things right, but now he's having a case of second thoughts because he survived somehow, and nobody ways to remain in limbo, even for the greater good. This really was one of those episodes that pose more questions than answer them, so I just don't know.
Thx. I'm determined that this is not going to be another winter of nonstop sinus infections like last year, so trying to fight my nature of not ever sitting still. :) vibes help!

It's not hard being dead in the end; dying is the hardest thing though: The act of entering the Machine without knowing whether he would ever come out was noble, but I can't blame Peter for pushing his way back into existence, especially now that Olivia was pulling on the other end (as Mark Little's story implies, I think: they're awakening, the Cortexikids).

By the way, have you tried neti pots? They really help, at least the overpriced (but very effective) electric one I got: definitely cleans everything out: http://www.amazon.com/SinuPulse-Elite-Advanced-Irrigation-System/dp/B001CWT4JI
Guess I could send you mine too; my sinuses are doing pretty good these days...
