But it does make me wonder if nobody told you it was a disability, would you know it was?
I have a rescued kitty with neurological damage that makes her walk like a drunken sailor and fall over at the drop of a hat, and an injury short after birth that left her blind in one eye. She's now almost ten years old, a sweet, affectionate cat, who doesn't take any BS from anybody, protective of her family, loves camping, fearless in the face of Roomba, and is oh so proud of herself for figuring out how to *finally* climb onto the counter since we've moved the furniture around (she doesn't have enough muscle control in her back legs to jump more than a foot or two, and boy does it she milk it when she's feeling lazy and wants somebody to life her onto the bed). The things is, she's never known anything different. She's just grown up learning to do things differently than other cats. Just don't sneak up on her blind side if you value your ankles.
(and yes, I realize being human is not like being a cat and that there are other social and political issues in play. Just makes me wonder, is all)
