Sailors take warning
Jan. 10th, 2013 08:46 amWe are under a winter storm warning.

Finally able to get the sunrise with visible foreground without resorting to any photoshop tricks. There's a bit of blurring in the lower right corner, but that's because I hadn't bothered to use the filter holder, or shut my car off to minimize vibrations. I think with both a tripod and a little more time to set up the shot and the filter, it could have been print-worthy. Which is not bad for the $30 from DX.com for a selection of filters and holder, shipping included.
Also, not sure if I've linked this before, but I did pick up a very cheap circular polarizing filter to stack with my more expensive once to make a variable ND filter. Works as advertised, and an easy way to determine if you'd actually get use of a neutral density filter without shelling out a lot of money.
