There are a couple of moments, one in the pilot, and another in, I think it was Ability where there's so much unsaid going on between Walter and Olivia that the rest of the room just falls away, and Peter is there in the background, interrupting the conversation and trying to make them both listen to reason. Those moments just define their earlier relationship so well that I can't help but wonder how far they'll push each other without Peter there, or if they were ever really listening to him at all. Hurry up S4!
